Can you believe it? Parks is two years old. well, maybe you can't believe it, but i sure cant .I cant express to you how much i simply adore this little boy, but in the last couple of months a wee bit of a personality (if thats what you want to call it) has emerged. Everything is MINE. common sayings around here are
"mine boogers"
"mine lips" (as i am trying to kiss him)
"mine pajamas" (as he is ripping Navys' clothes off)
"no, mine" ( as he is hitting/shooing me away)
Being the loving mother I am, I know I am entitled to a kiss anytime I want. so here I am taking what is rightfully mine!
On the 27th of this month was Parks' birthday. Originally I was just going to make him a soccer cake. I know he likes soccer and would be over the moon with any cake that had candles on the top. But I got to thinking....maybe I should just ask Parks my self what kind of cake he wanted...
"what kind of cake do you want for your birthday.....Parks.....what kind of cake do you want for your birthday......Parks!"
and his response was "hotdog"
I do realize anything could have come out of his mouth....to name a few....
potty
poops/toots
fruit snack
cookie
daddy......
but on this particular day, Parks decided to say HOTDOG.
I sometimes get nervous throwing a party. I find it especially hard when you have a crying baby hanging off your arm, and another little boy hanging on your leg, but it all turned out.
We decided to not torture the adults and serve nothing but hotdogs, so we threw in some hamburgers, chips, salads, and fruit. Chris did an excellent job on the barbeque, and thanks to Amanda and my Mom for bringing food. For dessert we most definetly did not eat the hotdog cake...it would have tasted like a pile of sugar! so instead I made some yummy cupcakes. Since I spent the time making Parks cake I decided to make two of my fav cupcakes...chocolate cupcake with peanut butter icing...and carrot cake with cream cheese icing. OHH, they were so good.

Although this party was super fun, it started out a little slow...
Grandpa Johnson was able to snuggle Parks just right to help him enjoy his party.
My mom brought some noise makers....i would love to tell you that my husband acts his age...but then he wouldnt be my husband!
After Chris started doing this i think my floor was covered in boogies by all of the kids!
We bought Parks a slide for his birthday, him, and all of his cousins loved going down it. not to mention all the pushing and shoving..ha
oh, and i forgot to mention the horse that showed up at our house. his name is comet.. he was given to Parks by his uncle matt and aunt amanda..matt informed us all that Comet has never lost a race, he listens to Pink Floyd, cheers for the Washington Redskins, and he loves sipping rootbeer...sounds like someone i know!
.......i think he will have a good home here at our house.
Parks...and his CHEESE face. Everytime i turn the camera on he says cheese. usually he doesnt look at me so this is a real treat.....
Thank-you everyone for the presents for Parks!
well, that was a long re-cap of Parks birthday....yes, jessica. this long drawn out version of a blog post is especially for you! Parks wishes you could have made it!
well, until you can come back to see us, Parks will be waiting for you...on his potty of course!
