July 1st!

This year at the July 1st parade Parks was almost two years old. we didn't know how he would react to all of the commotion of a parade. between people throwing candy, the horses, and all the other floats we didn't know what to expect. Parks blew all of us out of the water by patiently sitting in his chair. the first float that went by through out suckers. Parks ran an got two suckers, then parked himself right in Emily and Quinceys chair. he did not move the entire parade! we did not have to worry about him running out into the road, or crying because another kid stole his candy. it really was a dream to sit there and not have to worry. the parade of course was lame..ha .well, besides the EnviroFoam truck throwing out freezies and Chris' ten year reunion float (that he neglected to get on...aka...hid in the car when it passed). Later on that day we went to aunt sheilas house to have a barbecue. there were lots of cousins for parks to play with, it was a lot of fun! During the day we just hung out...we went over to Matt and Amandas and had some lunch and played outside. On the first we also went to the most boring basketball game of my life! so we left and went and joined in the fun on main street. Parks loved the little petting zoo.

As you can see in this picture Parks was loving the candy (that we picked up from the parade...hey, you can never be too old, right?, no?) yes, he is spitting out this particular candy...but im pretty sure it was from a FEW years ago....ha

But wouldnt you know it ten seconds later he was asleep....I think that is a true talent being able to sleep during a complete sugar high!

Apparently me and chris were completely lazy and we didnt even go to the fireworks. I guess our excuse was the fact that Parks \and Navy were upstairs fast asleep by the time 11 rolled around. All, in all we had a great time, and of course the summer has gone by sooo fast!
